Main Job Responsibilities
  • Bullet PointAssist in providing a stable, dependable and efficient computing and telecommunications environment.
  • Bullet PointEvaluate and maintain networking devices and technologies including switches, firewalls and cabling.
  • Bullet PointDelivery of corporate applications, network and telecommunications services throughout the company.
  • Bullet PointAssist with maintaining the security of the Barr-Nunn computing environment.
  • Bullet PointProvide support and maintenance for LAN and application servers, desktop hardware and software, corporate support applications, and telecommunications systems.
  • Bullet PointAdminister relationships and contracts with vendors in assigned areas of responsibility and assist with procurement of network resources.
  • Bullet PointAssist in establishing business needs, develop appropriate recommendations and provide approved solutions using IT best practices.
  • Bullet PointAssist in the development/enforcement of IT standards and policies
  • Bullet PointProvide service and support for network, desktop, supported applications and telecommunications functions for Office and Shop personnel at all locations.
  • Bullet PointMaintain active communication with departmental areas to aid with changing business needs.
  • Bullet PointDocument current processes and provide options for alternative solutions to increase efficiency by applying technology
  • Bullet PointMaintain physical inventory of IT computing assets for both servers and desktops at all company locations.
  • Bullet PointCreate and maintain IT standards in accordance with applicable regulations and company direction
  • Bullet PointWork closely with IT Systems Manager in developing and improving IT documentation and work standards.

Education and Experience
  • Bullet Point2 year degree in MIS, or Computer Science (may substitute 2 years business experience)
  • Bullet PointMinimum of 2 years business experience in IT operations in position of desktop support or equivalent activities.
  • Bullet PointProficiency with personal computers and common business applications such as email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Bullet PointExperience with networked computers and common file services in a Microsoft server environment.
  • Bullet PointFamiliarity with Microsoft Hyper-V Environment.
  • Bullet PointFamiliarity with Enterprise iSCSI SAN environments.
  • Bullet PointFamiliarity with Microsoft SQL database concepts and operations.
  • Bullet PointFamiliarity with Network switches, firewalls and cabling technologies.
  • Bullet PointFamiliarity with business backup solutions in Virtual and/or Physical environments.
  • Bullet PointExperience with Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems.
