Do you pay shortest book miles or Practical Miles?
- We pay Practical miles on all loaded and empty dispatched miles.
How often will I get home?
- Over the Road = Home every other weekend
  Regional Fleet = Home on weekends
  Hometime Fleet = Home a minimum of 3 out of 4 weekends.
How much experience do you require for Owner Operators?
- We require 1 year of current OTR experience.
What is your average length of haul?
- Our average length of haul is approximately 400 miles.
What is Band Pay?
- Band Pay is extra pay per mile for all complete loads you pickup and deliver that are less then 1000 miles.
What year does my truck have to be?
- Truck must be 8 years old or newer at the time of being leased on.
Do you have terminal fuel?
- No. We use a fuel network comprised of TA, Petro, Pilot and Loves truck stops.
Is your fuel surcharge paid on all loaded and empty dispatched miles?
- Yes. ($0.221/mi loaded and empty week of 8/30/10)
Do you provide base plates and permits?
- Yes we offer plates and permits to the Owner Operator.
I have 3 trucks. Can I lease them all on with Barr-Nunn?
- No. Barr-Nunn does not accept fleets.

- 22 % in the Southeast
  54 % in the Midwest

Do you have a Rider Program?
- Yes. One person at a time and they must be at least 10 years of age. Cost is $19 per month.
Do I have to deliver to New York City or Canada?
- No.
Do you pay for detention?
- Yes. Owner Operators are paid $20 per hour if they are delayed at a customer longer then 2 hours from the appointment time. Customers are given 2 hours of free time from the appointment time to get the freight loaded or unloaded. Drivers must be on time for pickup and delivery.
How do I submit my paperwork?
- We use truck stop scanning.
Do you authorize tolls and how do I pay for them?
- We offer all Owner Operators a PrePass Plus transponder which has EZPass and IPass. Dispatch includes a routing with toll approval included. Owner Operators are charged $5 per week for the Pre Pass Plus transponder.
How much of your freight is no touch?
- Barr-Nunn has 99.7% No Touch freight.
Do I have to have a Hazmat endorsement to drive for Barr-Nunn?
- No. As an Owner Operator you are not required to have a Hazmat endorsement
