Barr-Nunn has developed the Veterans Alliance Program
to attract prior military and reserve personnel who do not have the required amount of commercial
over the road experience but already share the basic core values of patriotism,
discipline, respect, work ethic and safety. Barr-Nunn's founder, Bob Sturgeon and his son, are prior Marines and there are many
veterans and reserves working as drivers, mechanics, office staff and management for
Barr-Nunn. This new program will give
those veterans and reserves, who have at least 18 months of military tractor-trailer
experience and 6 months of recent commercial tractor-trailer over the road
experience, full credit up to our 12 months of experience pay
level.
Program Expectations
- Qualified veterans and reserves will attend orientation under our driver refresher program (if available).
- Driver refresher program consists of regular orientation plus 3-5 days with trainer
- Sign on bonus is not paid until driver graduates orientation and completes training period and is released as a solo driver
