Happy 30th Anniversary Barr-Nunn

Barr-Nunn Transportation turns 30 years old today, October 12, 2012. Barr-Nunn, a privately owned dry van truckload carrier, is headquartered in Granger, IA, and also has locations in Manchester, PA, Columbus, OH, and Charlotte, NC to serve as maintenance and orientation facilities.

In 1982, Robert Sturgeon bought a small Granger-based trucking company operating 13 trucks. With the help of dedicated employees and an excellent driver reputation, the company has grown to operate about 500 tractors and 1,550 trailers. The then company name, Sturgeon Truck Lines, began hauling piggy-back freight from Iowa to rail yards in Omaha and Kansas City. Shortly after, Sturgeon bought a trucking business, located in Oak Park, IL, which provided the license to haul freight throughout the United States, as well as a new company name, Barr-Nunn. Happy Anniversary Barr-Nunn!
